Laundry Guidelines Reminder
We’ve noticed an uptick in laundry stack backups that have led to leaks into units. To help prevent further damage and interruptions, please follow these simple guidelines when using the washing machines:
What to use:
– Use high-efficiency (HE) detergent if the machine is marked HE (look for “HE” on the washer or on signage).
– Choose a liquid HE detergent when possible; powdered detergents can sometimes not dissolve fully and contribute to blockages.
How much to use:
– Follow the detergent manufacturer’s dosing instructions for load size and soil level.
– When in doubt, use less rather than more. Excess detergent creates extra suds that can cause backups and leaks.
Good laundry-room habits:
– Do not overfill machines; leave room for clothes to move freely.
– Avoid adding extra fabric softener, booster, or other additives beyond recommended amounts.
– Clean lint traps, dispensers, and the washer door gasket. Run a cleaning cycle monthly if your washer has one.
If you see a problem:
– Stop using the affected machine and notify the management team immediately via the Resident Portal or by calling Community Care at 800-400-2284 so we can address it promptly.
– If you experience a leak in your unit, report it right away so repairs and mitigation can begin.
Keeping everyone’s laundry facilities in working order protects property and prevents potential damage to units. Thank you for your cooperation.
